I’m really proud of this…
I wanted to share a little behind the scenes from my recent virtual series, the NeuroFascia Integration Series: Face, Jaw & Neck…
Dr. Monica Lesslie (master of Cortical Field Re-education, or CFR) and I genuinely feel like we’re onto something special. After going through each other’s lessons and hosting our live Q&A calls with those who joined this round, we kept finding ourselves staying on Zoom or the phone far longer than planned—comparing notes, talking through what we were noticing in our own bodies, and sharing what participants were experiencing.
And it’s because we kept getting more and more excited.
Individually, we both know our work is effective. But seeing what happens when you combine CFR with fascia release was something different. It’s more than just complementary—it’s accelerating change in the body with far less input.
One of the biggest things we kept coming back to was this:
Most people think their issue is happening because their muscles are too tight, their joints are too restricted, and they “just need to stretch more.”
But this is where we have to shift the way we think.
Bones and muscles are responding to signals from the body’s communication systems—your fascial system and your nervous system. When something feels tight, restricted, or stuck, it’s often because these systems are driving that pattern… not because of your lack of stretching.
When you work with those systems directly, you can create change much more efficiently—with less force and in less time than typical recovery work. With the CFR work in particular, due to novelty of the specific movements, old patterns can change immediately… and actually hold. Sometimes you only need to do the movement once and that old pattern never returns! That’s a very different experience than trying to stretch or force your way into change.
We saw things like:
• Posture improving without cueing “stand up straight”
• Jaw tension releasing in places that had felt stuck for years
• Breathing becoming fuller and more natural
• The face, eyes, and neck visibly softening
And beyond that—people feeling more grounded, more aware, and more connected to their body.
Here are a few things people shared after just 3 weeks:
“My posture has improved and I have greater awareness of where my head, neck, spine and pelvis are in space… breathing feels more expansive… I feel more grounded, literally and emotionally.”
“My shoulders are sitting lower… my breathing feels deeper… I feel like a new person when I get up from my mat.”
“After a session, I felt an immediate and full release of tension in my face.”
“My eyebrows are sitting higher and my eyes look less droopy… I had no idea how much tension I was holding there until I didn’t have it anymore.”
The live round of this series has wrapped up, but the full course is still available.
You can move through it at your own pace, revisit it as often as you want, and continue building on what you learn.
This is a very different way of working with your body!
If you’ve been dealing with things like:
• Headaches
• Eye strain
• TMJ or jaw tension
• Neck tightness
• Forward head posture
• General posture issues
This approach can make a meaningful difference and often faster than you might expect.
If you want to explore it, you can find all the details by clicking below. I’m really proud of this one. And I can’t wait to hear from more of you about the shifts you experience if you feel that this sounds like the right fit for you.

Yes — they can. Jaw tension, TMJ symptoms, and neck tightness are often about more than just tight muscles. These patterns are usually being driven by the fascia and nervous system, which is why stretching or massaging the area over and over does not always create lasting change. When you work with those deeper communication systems, the body can often shift much more quickly and with far less force.
-
Because tightness is not always a stretching problem. A lot of the time, muscles feel tight because they are responding to protective patterns coming from the nervous system and tension patterns being held in the fascia. If those underlying systems do not change, the body will often go right back to the same restriction no matter how much stretching you do.
-
They affect all of it. Your posture, breathing patterns, and areas of tension are not just about muscles “doing the wrong thing.” They are heavily influenced by the signals coming from your nervous system and the condition of your fascial system. When those systems become more organized and supported, posture can improve, breathing can deepen, and tension can start to release without needing to force it.
-
Yes — absolutely. In many cases, the body responds better to more strategic and specific input than to force. When you address the patterns driving forward head posture and chronic tension, things can start changing without having to constantly cue yourself to “sit up straight” or stretch harder. Often the shift feels more natural, more efficient, and more sustainable.

It can be. Headaches, eye strain, facial tension, jaw tension, and neck tightness are often connected, especially when the fascia and nervous system are involved. This series was designed to help address those deeper patterns, so instead of only chasing symptoms, you are working with the systems that may be contributing to them in the first place.
