Want to get “stepped on” every day?

Back in 2012, I was dealing with some pretty severe right knee pain.

Fascia release had been helping quite a bit, so my good friend and hiking buddy and I decided to head out to Aspen to hike two 14,000 ft mountains: Castle and Conundrum. (Yes, I know. That was ambitious/irresponsible. But I refuse to let anything keep me from the mountains.)

Because of our severe lack of high clearance four wheel drive vehicles at the time, we had to park all the way down at the end of the road, which added about six miles to our hike.

Going up seemed okay.

Going down was a completely different story.

After only a few steps downhill, my knee started getting hot. Then the pain kicked in, and it literally stop me in my tracks. There are very few things that make me quite as nervous as having a problem when you're MILES away from civilization.

Thankfully, my hiking buddy also happened to be one of the people I had learned fascia release work from.

Every five to ten minutes, we'd stop. We'd put my puffer jacket down on a rock to give my knee a little padding, and she'd step on my calf.

After just a few releases in a few different spots, I could walk another five to ten minutes without pain. Then we'd need to stop again. And again.

We were able to make it all the way down the mountain and back to the car without a severe enough episode to complicate things.

I remember thinking at the time:

Wow. Having someone who knows how to help you in those moments when pain suddenly shows up, especially when you're seven miles into the wilderness, is an absolute GAME CHANGER.

That experience (and honestly, so many after this one) is the reason I’ll be hosting the 3rd annual Partner Stepping Course!

There are plenty of times when coming in for a session simply isn't practical. You might be traveling, out hiking, at home on a Sunday afternoon, or somewhere you didn't bring your foam roller or fascia release tools.

That doesn’t mean you need to wait for relief!

I'll be teaching you a handful of the same Fascia Remedy bodywork techniques I use in my office, focusing on the techniques that will be most useful for helping yourself and your partner, whether that's your spouse, sister, roommate, or workout buddy.

You'll learn how to work together so you have another option when pain pops up and you want to address it right away. Because pain is part of life. What matters is having the tools and understanding to respond when it shows up.

The sooner you can pay attention to what's happening and address it, rather than waiting for an appointment or hoping it goes away on its own, the more opportunities you have to reduce the pain and prevent compensation patterns from creeping in and creating more issues down the line.

One of the most common phrases I’ve heard over the past 13 years is:

"I wish I could just be stepped on all the time."

Or:

"I really just need to be stepped on every day for a week to help this thing."

Well...

With a partner, you can.
